Job Description: The Housekeeper/17/Floors performs cleaning tasks in an assigned area of the medical center to provide a sanitary, orderly, and attractive hospital environment. Performs all duties in a manner which promotes team concept in the hospital and reflects Southwest Medical Center’s mission and philosophy.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. Floor Experience preferred, but not required. Housekeeping experience helpful, but not required.

Recruitment Coordinator

Full Time • 80 hrs/pp • 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Job Description: The Recruiting Coordinator will partner with CEO, Marketing, and Human Resources to anticipate and meet the evolving recruitment needs of the organization and assist in delivering highly talented and motivated team members to the organization. The position will nurture relationships with prospective talent and manage on-going relationships with prospective candidates.

Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent required.  Associates Degree in Business or related field required.  Bachelor degree in business or related field preferred.  1-3 years working in a professional business office preferred.  Developed interpersonal and communication skills needed with proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office.  An in-depth knowledge of data mining and internet research helpful.

Family Care Clinic

OutPatient Scheduler

Full Time • 80 hrs/pp • 8:00 am-5:00 pm

Job Description: The Scheduling Clerk is responsible for all duties in scheduling outpatient appointments and coordinating testing with the various departments.  Assists patients and families when deemed necessary.  Works closely with hospital staff and physician’s offices, and cross trains in other areas affecting the admission process. 

Requirements: Graduate of state accredited high school or equivalent. Medical terminology required (Vocational Technical school 3-month course equal to one year of experience).  Previous clerical and computer background desired.  Previous admissions experience preferred. Typing 30 WPM or greater required.  Must have a pleasing manner, neat appearance, good communication skills, as well as an aptitude for learning and written detailed work.  Must be able to respond rapidly to an emergency.  Ability to withstand stressful situations both physically and emotionally. 

Receptionist (2)

Full Time • 72 hrs/pp • 8:00 am-5:00 pm

Job Description: This position is responsible for optimizing the scheduling of patients seeking services, welcoming patients as they arrive, collecting billing and demographic information and payments, answering the telephone promptly, obtaining appropriate information and routing calls as needed.   Works closely with staff and physician’s offices, and cross trains in other areas affecting the clinic office and may assist with other areas as needed.

Requirements: Graduate of state accredited high school or equivalent. Minimum of 2-4 years working with the public preferred, minimum six months experience in hospital, physician’s clinic office desirable.  Basic courses or experience in medical terminology preferred. Typing 30 WPM or greater, bookkeeping, 10 key, experience required.  Must be computer literate and proficient with patient scheduling software.  Must have friendly and helpful attitude, must be detailed oriented, capable of multi-tasking and capable of independently exercising good judgment.   Must be able to respond rapidly to an emergency.  Ability to withstand stressful situations

FOOD AND NUTRITION (DIETARY)

Cook

Full Time • 80 hrs/pp • Plus Weekends • Varied Shifts (Seven Positions Available)

Job Description: The Cook is to prepare all food in accordance with current standards, guidelines, and regulations established in policies and procedures as directed or instructed to ensure quality is provided at all time.  The Cook functions are as follows but not limited to: dishwasher, tray aide, grill person, hostess, cook, and baker. 

Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Food and Nutrition experience preferred: hospital food and nutrition experience a plus. Must be able to read and write English, able to take directions, cook, work grill area, be a team player and work well with others.

Dietary Aide

Job Description: The Dietary Aide is to provide assistance in all food and nutrition functions under supervision directed or instructed in accordance with established policies and procedures

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.  Hospital food service experience preferred, but not required. Customer service experience preferred. Must be able to serve and prepare all food in accordance with current standards to ensure quality. 

ADMISSIONS

Admit Clerk (2)

Full Time • 80 hrs/pp • Varied Shifts • Plus Weekends

Job Description: Admit Clerk is responsible for the performance of various duties that are intended to result in proper payments to the hospital for services provided to patients.  Individuals will conduct themselves in a manner that will project both professionalism and caring to all people. 

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required.  One to two years of experience in a hospital or physician office setting.  Typing 30 wpm or more.  10 Key-required.  Must have good verbal and written communication skills to provide and obtain appropriate information.  Ability to handle detailed work and a fast-paced environment.

Insurance Verification Clerk  

Full Time • 80 hrs/pp

Job Description: Duties include obtaining and verifying benefits and authorization from 3rd party payers, collection of deductibles and co-payments from patients

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. 

PBX Operator

PT • 64 hrs/pp • Varied Hours • Weekends

Job Description: Admission personnel will conduct themselves in a manner that will project both professionalism and caring to all people.  Job duties will be performed not only to assist the patients but all departments involved in the hospital setting.  Quality performance will be maintained to support the facility’s mission to the community.

Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent. Previous PBX experience preferred.  Health care terminology preferred. Must be able to respond rapidly to an emergency.  Ability to withstand stressful situations both physically and emotionally.  Ability to answer multiple calls.

PLANT OPERATIONS

Plant Ops Tech II                  

Full Time • 80 hrs/pp • 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Job Description: The Maintenance Technician II does general maintenance work throughout the hospital/clinics to maintain equipment in good condition for safe and effective patient care in accordance with current applicable federal, State, local requirements, and the Joint Commission, as directed by the Director of Plant Operations, to assure that a successful maintenance program is maintained at all times.

Requirements: High school graduate. Minimum of three (3) years experience in the building or maintenance trades. A/C Service Skills Required. Must possess effective communication skills. Ability to work in cramped spaces. Subject to frequent interruptions. Ability to work in all areas of the facility. Must be able to cope with the physical, mental, and emotional stress of the position.

Plant Ops Painter

Full Time • 80 hrs/pp •

Job Description: General maintenance work throughout the hospital/clinics to maintain equipment in good condition for safe and effective patient care.

Requirements: Must have High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the building or maintenance trades.

Security

Security Officer

Part Time•40 hrs/pp• Varied Shifts•On Call•Weekends

Job Description: The primary purpose of the Security Officer is to perform general security work in the protection of persons, property, and the enforcement of all applicable policies/procedures, rules and regulations of Southwest Medical Center and applicable federal, state, and local laws to prevent losses due to accidents and incidents.

Requirements: High school diploma. Must have good communication skills, be a self-starter and work well under high stress situations. Previous security experience and associates degree preferred but not required.
