Vice President of Patient Care Services*

Job Description: The Vice President of Patient Care Services under the direction of the CEO is responsible for the management, direction and supervision all nursing service, anesthesia, social services, education, home care, health information services, radiology, laboratory, dialysis, employee health, infection control and quality improvement functions and activities. Responsible for the quality of patient cares and ensures that sufficient and properly qualified personnel carry out their functions appropriately. Is knowledgeable of social, economical and legal issues effecting the health care systems and seeks all opportunities for keeping staff up to date in health care practices. Develops, presents and directs the implementation, and insures compliance of standards of nursing practice.  Requirements: Current license in the State of Kansas as a Registered Nurse. Graduate of a State accredited school of nursing, BSN minimum, with Masters degree or equivalent education. BLS required. Minimum of 5/7 years experience as a Registered Nurse with comprehensive knowledge of nursing theory and practice. Minimum of 5 years supervisor experience with demonstrated leadership/management ability.

Job Description: To assist in addressing psychosocial and behavioral health needs in order to provide a holistic care to patients / families. Performance is consistent with Kansas Behavioral Science Regulatory Board of Social Workers as well as with JC, OSHA, Federal, and State standards and regulations.  Requirements: Master’s Degree in Social Services from a program accredited by the Council of Social Work Education. Current license to practice Social Work in the state of Kansas. Master’s Degree in Social Services from a program accredited by the Council of Social Work Education. Laundry Tech

Job Description: The Laundry Technician receives, stores, and distributes clean linen to all departments of the hospital requiring linen. The Laundry Technician picks up and prepares dirty linen for shipment to outside contract linen service. These operations include all correct and established procedures involved with infection control, distribution, and shipping of dirty linen.  Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Food & Nutrition Services (Dietary)

Dietician*

Job Description: The Dietitian supervises the nutritional aspects of patient care, including the assessment of nutritional status and recommendation of appropriate diet therapy. When necessary, the dietitian counsels in-patients and out-patients on appropriate nutrition intervention principles. The Dietitian shares responsibility with the Food Service Manager in meeting professional standards in regards to nutrition.  Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors in Dietetics or Nutrition supplemented by an internship or other training to meet the registration requirements of the American Dietetic Association. Master Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition preferred. Registration with the commissions of Dietetic Registration of American Dietetic Association. Licensed by the state of Kansas. Clinical and management experience preferred, but not required. Must be able to work well with physicians. Must be dependable, self-motivated, and have a professional attitude at all times.

Cook

Job Description: The Cook is to prepare all food in accordance with current standards, guidelines, and regulations established in policies and procedures as directed or instructed to ensure quality is provided at all time. Clinic Coder I 

Full Time • 80 hrs/pp • 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Job Description: The Coder/Abstractor I shall code and abstract of all types of patient encounters accurately and completely according to departmental guidelines, official ICD-10-CM & PCS and CPT-4 coding guidelines, HCPCS level II procedure codes, modifier guidelines and E&M guidelines for grouping into DRG’s and APC’s for reimbursement and statistical reporting. Must be able to tolerate the physical and emotional stress associated with the position.  Must have strong communication skills and work independently with minimal supervision.  Must be able to accurately perform multiple tasks simultaneously and meet multiple demands.  Requirements: High school graduate, medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, and basic coding courses. 1 year basic coding in a hospital, clinic setting or physician’s office preferred, or successful completion of certified coding program.

Patient Financial Services

Insurance Biller:

Job Description: Insurance Biller is responsible for the performance of various duties that are intended to result in proper payments to the hospital for services provided to patients. Duties include completion and filing insurance claims with Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross, Commercial, and governmental agencies for all inpatients and outpatients.  Follow-up is done to insure timely payments on filed claims and any special projects.  Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates Degree in business field or some additional education preferred.

Clinic Billing Office

Clinic Billing Coordinator:

Full Time • 80 hrs/pp • 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Job Description: The Clinic Billing Coordinator is responsible for providing direct supervision of the clinic billing office staff performing all of the professional billing and collections for hospital owned practices and other professional contracts.  This position participates in the Leadership Development Institute program.  Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required.  Associate’s degree or higher in healthcare, business or related field preferred.  Additional college-level courses in Management subjects desirable.  One to two years’ experience in a hospital business office, provider office or other health care setting preferred.   One to two years supervisory experience preferred.  Must have working knowledge of major third party payer protocols, including Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial Insurance, Managed Care, Work Comp, Auto and Self Pay.  Must be familiar with ICD10, CPT and HCPCS coding, as well as UB04 and HCFA 1500 billing claim forms.   Knowledge of personal computers and word processing/spreadsheet software mandatory.

Job Description: The Clinic Billing Representative is responsible for filing insurance claims with Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross, Commercial, and governmental agencies for all patients. Responsible for activities and initiatives designed to collect account balances owed to the clinic by patients or the guarantors as well as posting of charges, cash and adjustments that effect accounts receivable. Responsible for monitoring the coding on all encounters utilizing ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers and E&M guidelines. Duties include verification and addition of insurance and updating patient or guarantor demographic information. Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent is required.  Associate’s degree or higher in business or related field preferred.  Previous experience in a health care setting preferred.

Plant Operations Tech II

Full Time • 80 hrs/pp • 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Job Description: The Maintenance Technician II does general maintenance work throughout the hospital/clinics to maintain equipment in good condition for safe and effective patient care in accordance with current applicable federal, State, local requirements, and the Joint Commission, as directed by the Director of Plant Operations, to assure that a successful maintenance program is maintained at all times.  Requirements: High school graduate. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the building or maintenance trades. Must possess effective communication skills. Ability to work in cramped spaces. Subject to frequent interruptions. Ability to work in all areas of the facility. Must be able to cope with the physical, mental, and emotional stress of the position.
