Outpatient Scheduler

Job Description: The Scheduling Clerk is responsible for all duties in scheduling outpatient appointments and coordinating testing with the various departments. Assists patients and families when deemed necessary. Works closely with hospital staff and physician’s offices, and cross-trains in other areas affecting the admission process.

Requirements: Graduate of state-accredited high school or equivalent. Medical terminology required (Vocational Technical school 3-month course equal to one year of experience). Previous clerical and computer background desired. Previous admissions experience preferred.

PBX Operator

• PRN

Job Description: Admission personnel will conduct themselves in a manner that will project both professionalism and caring to all people. Job duties will be performed not only to assist the patients but all departments involved in the hospital setting. Quality performance will be maintained to support the facility’s mission to the community.

Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent. Previous PBX experience preferred. Healthcare terminology preferred. Must be able to respond rapidly to an emergency. Ability to withstand stressful situations both physically and emotionally. Ability to answer multiple calls.

HIS (Medical Records)

Tech

• Full-Time

Job Description: Medical Records Technician I is responsible for the processes of assembly, analysis, completion, filing, and retrieval of all medical records. Tech is also responsible for the reception of customers, answering the telephone, the release of information regarding medical records, and completing birth certificates.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Position requires good telephone skills and typing skills. Basic knowledge of computers & photocopiers is required. Knowledge of fax machines, microfilm reader, and ten key helpful but not required.

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES

EVS Tech

• Full-Time | Plus Weekends

Job Description: Housekeeper/17/Floors performs cleaning tasks in an assigned area of the medical center to provide a sanitary, orderly, and attractive hospital environment. Performs all duties in a manner that promotes the team concept in the hospital and reflects Southwest Medical Center’s mission.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. Floor Experience is preferred, but not required. Housekeeping experience is helpful, but not required.

MIS

Clinical Informatics Analyst

• Full-Time | On-Call

Education: Current Kansas LPN license required, RN preferred.

Experience: Working experience should include at least three (3) years within a hospital clinical environment. This individual must be knowledgeable in computers and be able to understand and work with software vendors as well as internal users. Previous experience implementing Meditech’s Advanced Clinical modules is required.

Requirements: Must be able to translate technical terminology into understandable terms for use in working with employees, vendors, etc. Must be able to withstand stressful situations, both physically and emotionally that are associated with the position. Must have the communication skills necessary to provide appropriate information as needed. Must be able to respond rapidly to an emergency.

Recruitment Coordinator

Job Description: The Recruiting Coordinator will partner with CEO, Marketing, and Human Resources to anticipate and meet the evolving recruitment needs of the organization and assist in delivering highly talented and motivated team members to the organization.

Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s Degree in Business or related field required. Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred. 

FOOD AND NUTRITION (DIETARY)

Cook

• Full-Time | 80 hrs/pp | Plus Weekends | Varied Shifts

Job Description: The Cook is to prepare all food in accordance with current standards, guidelines, and regulations established in policies and procedures as directed or instructed to ensure quality is provided at all times. 

Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Dietary Aide

• Part-Time | 60-64 hrs/pp | Plus Weekends | Varied Shifts

Job Description: The Dietary Aide is to provide assistance in all food and nutrition functions under supervision directed or instructed in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be able to serve and prepare all food in accordance with current standards to ensure quality. 

Dietician *

• Full-Time | 80 hrs/pp | Plus Weekends

Job Description: The Dietitian supervises the nutritional aspects of patient care, including the assessment of nutritional status and recommendation of appropriate diet therapy. When necessary, the dietitian counsels inpatients and outpatients on appropriate nutrition intervention principles.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors in Dietetics or Nutrition supplemented by an internship or other training to meet the registration requirements of the American Dietetic Association. Master’s Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition preferred. Registration with the commissions of Dietetic Registration of American Dietetic Association. Licensed by the state of Kansas.

SECURITY

Security Officer

• Full-Time | 80 hrs/pp

Job Description: The primary purpose of your job is to perform general security work in the protection of persons, property, and the enforcement of all applicable policies/procedures, rules, and regulations of Southwest Medical Center and applicable federal, state, and local laws to prevent losses due to accidents and incidents.

Requirements: High school diploma required.
