Southwest Medical Center has continued towards expanding medical services for the community this month with the opening of the new 15th Street Family Care Center, located at 555 W. 15th Street in Liberal. The new center combines two primary care clinics which were formerly located inside the hospital’s Medical Office Building, as well as a local pediatric clinic.
The 15th Street Family Care Center features both family medicine and pediatric providers, with the addition of 
internal medicine providers expected in the future. Family Medicine providers at the center include Dr. Rohitha Inturi; Dr. Van Trinh; Linsey Carter, APRN-C; Laura Kane, APRN-C; and Britt Short, APRN-C. Local pediatrician, Dr. Gurpreet Randhawa, and Tracy Fowler, APRN-C have joined Southwest Medical Center as employed providers, and will provide care for patients ages 18 and under at the center.
“Relocating Southwest Medical Center’s primary care clinics became a necessity with the successful recruitment of two general surgeons, Dr. Ehanire and Dr. Azefor; our urologist, Dr. Darwiche; and a new orthopedic and sports medicine physician arriving this spring,” SWMC’s Vice-President of Clinic Operations, Mark Cowan, explained. “As we looked at our available space, it became clear that moving these providers into one location off-campus would best serve patients visiting our new care centers in the future.”
The 15th Street Family Care Center building was purchased in summer 2016 and has been renovated to include 
16 exam rooms. The expanded space allows for these seven providers to care for patients of all ages.
The 15th Street Family Care Center accepts new patients, walk-in patients, and most major insurances, including: Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Medicare, and Kansas and Oklahoma Medicaid. The care center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., with extended evening hours available.
