Materials Coordinator

Job Description: To coordinate, review, negotiate, and maintain inventory for specialized products and equipment used by Surgical Services to achieve maximum value for the dollars spent. Must be organized, and have an understanding of current products and equipment used in all areas of Surgical Services. Computer experience is required. Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills to work with clinical staff, physicians, and vendors to enhance supply chain activities. Must be able to exhibit strong negotiation skills, strong, but fair presence with vendors – yet tact and diplomacy with surgeons.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. One (1) year experience with inventory/management computer systems, OR experience or Sterile processing experience preferred.  Previous clinic or medical billing experience preferred.  Medical terminology is strongly preferred. CNA is required within one year.

Sterile Processing Technician

Job Description: Preventing infections from patient to patient utilizing aseptic technique. Responsible for following established hospital procedures in cleaning, assembling, sterilizing, and storing medical supplies and equipment. Assures that all instrumentation is in good working order before and after processing. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or is a logical assignment to the position.

Requirements: Previous hospital experience is required. Prior on-the-job experience as Sterile Technician is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent. Certification testing is recommended after twelve months. Optional for International Association of Health Care Central Service Material Management (LAHCSMM).

Job Description: This position is responsible for optimizing the scheduling of patients seeking services, welcoming patients as they arrive, collecting billing and demographic information and payments, answering the telephone promptly, obtaining appropriate information, and routing calls as needed.   Works closely with staff and physician’s offices, cross-trains in other areas affecting the clinic office, and may assist with other areas as needed.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 2-4 years working with the public preferred, minimum six months experience in hospital, physician’s clinic office desirable. Basic courses or experience in medical terminology preferred. Typing 30 WPM or greater, bookkeeping, 10 key, experience required. Must be computer literate and proficient with patient scheduling software. Must have a friendly and helpful attitude, must be detailed oriented, capable of multi-tasking, and capable of independently exercising good judgment. Must be able to respond rapidly to an emergency. Ability to withstand stressful situations.

Medical Assistant

Job Description: Responsible for providing care for clinic patients following established standards and policies. Assists provider with patient care, including minor procedures, scheduling, taking medical history, education of patients, recording vital statistics, medication injections and follow-up, reviewing sample medications for outdates, maintaining adequate supplies, and stocking exam rooms.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant License/Certificate preferred but not required. LPN is also highly preferred. Experience working in a hospital or physician clinic 6-12 months is also preferred but not required.

Outpatient Sceduler/PA Clerk

• Full-Time | 72 hrs/pp

Job Description: This position is responsible for optimizing the scheduling of outpatient appointments and coordinating testing with the various departments. Also responsible for collecting billing and demographic information intended to result in proper payments to SWMC for services provided to patients. Duties also include obtaining and verifying benefits and authorization from 3rd party payers and collection of deductibles and co-payments from patients or guarantors. Assists patients and families when deemed necessary. Works with all clinic offices and various hospital departments, cross-trains in other areas affecting the clinics, and may assist with other areas as needed.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or physician office setting preferred. Ability to withstand stressful situations physically and emotionally. Able to handle multiple money transactions. Knowledge of computer software and hardware preferred. Medical terminology and knowledge of CPT codes and ICD-10 codes highly preferred.
