Baby Cakes Award 2004

Each year the International Pancake Day Committee honors the first baby born on Pancake Day with the Baby Cakes Award. The baby receives a plaque and a basketful of goodies such as diapers, clothing, rattles, and other baby essentials. First-time mom, Anahi Valenzuela, proudly poses with baby girl Lexani, who is wearing her Pancake Day scarf and apron. Lexani was born at 3:13 a.m. on February 24.
