Job Description: The Chief Nursing Officer under the direction of the CEO is responsible for the management, direction and supervision all nursing service, anesthesia, social services, education, home care, health information services, radiology, laboratory, dialysis, employee health, infection control and quality improvement functions and activities. Responsible for the quality of patient cares and ensures that sufficient and properly qualified personnel carry out their functions appropriately. Is knowledgeable of social, economical and legal issues effecting the health care systems and seeks all opportunities for keeping staff up to date in health care practices. Develops, presents and directs the implementation, and insures compliance of standards of nursing practice.  Requirements: Current license in the State of Kansas as a Registered Nurse. Graduate of a State accredited school of nursing, BSN minimum, with Masters degree or equivalent education. BLS required. Minimum of 5/7 years experience as a Registered Nurse with comprehensive knowledge of nursing theory and practice. Minimum of 5 years supervisor experience with demonstrated leadership/management ability.

Infusion Therapy Registered Nurse *

Job Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) plans, supervises, implements and evaluates the nursing care of each patient through the use of the nursing process.  The RN acts as the patient’s advocate while promoting teamwork with physicians and all personnel.  Infusion nursing is a specialty focused on the care of patients receiving intravenous (IV) therapy, or medications and fluids via injection. Infusion nurses ensure patients receive the correct IV for the treatment ordered, select and manage the appropriate device and monitor and evaluate the patient’s response to the IV therapy. They monitor patients, manage their tubing, maintain arterial catheters, and observe for potential drug complications. Infusion nurses must possess keen assessment and monitoring skills, be highly skilled at performing venipuncture, possess knowledge of different IV medications, fluids, and blood products, aware of infection control precautions, and be competent in working with a variety of different vascular access devices associated with infusions such as peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC) and midline access catheters, Ports and other devices as needed.  Requirements: Candidates should possess a current Registered Nurse license in the state of Kansas or hold a Kansas temporary RN license.  Basic Life Support certification required.  ACLS required.  Basic computer/word processing skills.  Written and verbal communication skills necessary to provide appropriate care to the populations served.  Ability to accurately implement and maintain patient schedules.  Ability to tolerate stressful situations both physically and emotionally.  IV Therapy and/or Infusion experience preferred.  Emergency or ICU experience with strong background in IV administration preferred.  1 year of relevant experience within the last three years preferred.

Typically, surgery days are Monday through Friday 7:30 am 3:30 pm. Call for this position is 1 day per week and every 5th weekend. Experience in orthopedic surgery is required and experience in general, urology, plastic, GI endoscopy, and GYN which includes C-sections is greatly appreciated.
