Job Description The Registered Nurse (RN) plans, supervises, implements and evaluates the nursing care of each patient through the use of the nursing process.  The RN acts as the patient’s advocate while promoting teamwork with physicians and all personnel.  Infusion nursing is a specialty focused on the care of patients receiving intravenous (IV) therapy, or medications and fluids via injection. Infusion nurses ensure patients receive the correct IV for the treatment ordered, select and manage the appropriate device and monitor and evaluate the patient’s response to the IV therapy. They monitor patients, manage their tubing, maintain arterial catheters, and observe for potential drug complications. Infusion nurses must possess keen assessment and monitoring skills, be highly skilled at performing venipuncture, possess knowledge of different IV medications, fluids, and blood products, aware of infection control precautions, and be competent in working with a variety of different vascular access devices associated with infusions such as peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC) and midline access catheters, Ports and other devices as needed. 

Requirements: Candidates should possess a current Registered Nurse license in the state of Kansas or hold a Kansas temporary RN license.  Basic Life Support certification required.  ACLS required.  Basic computer/word processing skills.  Written and verbal communication skills necessary to provide appropriate care to the populations served.  Ability to accurately implement and maintain patient schedules.  Ability to tolerate stressful situations both physically and emotionally.  IV Therapy and/or Infusion experience preferred.  Emergency or ICU experience with strong background in IV administration preferred.  1 year of relevant experience within the last three years preferred.

Job Description: The Certified Hyperbaric Registered Nurse is responsible for providing quality nursing care for and assisting wound care and hyperbaric patients, following established standards and policies through scheduling, taking and documenting medical history, education of patients regarding their progress on the plan of care and response to treatment, recording vital statistics, medication injections and follow up, reviewing sample medications for outdates, maintaining adequate supplies, and stocking exam rooms. Maintains patient confidentiality. Consults with physicians and team members regarding changes in patient conditions and revises the plan of care, as necessary, utilizing input of team members.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required.  Current license in the State of Kansas as a Registered Nurse required.  Training for Clinical Hyperbaric Registered Nurse (CHRN) required within one year of hire date.  ASCL Preferred.  Basic Life Support required.  Five years of RN or hyperbaric experience preferred but not required. At least 1 year of recent practice experience in clinical hyperbaric medicine preferred. Must have documentation of successful completion of at least 40 credit hours from the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology (NBDHMT) approved Hyperbaric Medicine Introductory Course.  Should obtain a minimum of 10 CEU’s in a 2 year time period in the field of hyperbaric medicine.
