LPN

Job Description: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for the delivery of care on a specific unit for an assigned shift under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Duties include overseeing the care provided by certified nurse aids, providing direct patient care, collecting patient data, reinforcing patient teaching, assisting with discharges, and interactions with all healthcare team members.    

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Current Licensed Practical Nurse license in the State of Kansas or holding a Kansas temporary LPN license.  Basic Life Support certification required.

CNA

Job Description: CNA functions as part of the nursing staff by assisting the nurse in performing delegated routine patient care activities and services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of the patient and his / her environment. 

Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent.  Successful completion of an approved Certified Nurse Aide course required.  BLS Required.

MedSurg Floor

Basic Life Support certification required.  Basic computer/word processing skills.  Written and verbal communication skills necessary to provide appropriate care to the populations served.  Ability to tolerate stressful situations both physically and emotionally.

Obstetrics Department

NewBorn Hearing Screener/C.N.A.

PT •24 hrs/pp • 7:00pm-7:00am • Varied Shifts

Job Description: The OB Newborn Hearing Screener will perform hearing screens and provide education to parents regarding the importance of the hearing screen and early intervention. The OB Newborn Hearing Screener is also responsible for clerical and receptionist duties, monitoring and stocking patient rooms, assisting nurses with routine patient care activities and services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of the patient and his/her environment. The omission of non-stated duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment within the CNA’s scope of practice.

Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of an approved Certified Nurse Aide course required. Previous ward clerk and/or nurse assistant experience preferred but not required. Typing and office experience helpful. Additional courses in medical terminology, technology, and basic computer preferred. Previous hospital experience preferred, but not required. Basic knowledge of computers, copy machine, and fax machines required. Basic Life Support certification required. Basic computer / word processing skills. Communication skills necessary to provide appropriate care to the populations served. Ability to tolerate stressful situations both physically and emotionally.

Wound Care/Hyperbaric Clinic

RN

PT • 64 hrs/pp • 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Job Description: The Hyperbaric Registered Nurse is responsible for providing quality nursing care for and assisting wound care and hyperbaric patients, following established standards and policies through scheduling, taking and documenting medical history, education of patients regarding their progress on the plan of care and response to treatment, recording vital statistics, medication injections and follow up, reviewing sample medications for outdates, maintaining adequate supplies, and stocking exam rooms. Maintains patient confidentiality. Consults with physicians and team members regarding changes in patient conditions and revises the plan of care, as necessary, utilizing input of team members. Participates in staff meetings and abides by general policies and rules of conduct as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent required. Current license in the State of Kansas as a Registered Nurse required. Training for Clinical Hyperbaric Registered Nurse (CHRN) required with one year of hire date. Five years of RN or Hyperbaric experience preferred but not required. At least one year of recent practice experience in clinical hyperbaric medicine preferred. ACLS preferred. Basic Life Support required. Must have communication skills necessary to provide appropriate information to the age of the patients served. Must have documentation of successful completion of at least 40 credit hours from the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology (NBDHMT) approved Hyperbaric Medicine Introductory Course. Bi-lingual skills preferred. Should obtain a minimum of 10 CEU’s in a 2 year time period in the field of hyperbaric medicine.

OPERATING ROOM

Surg Tech

Job Description: The Surgical Technician will assist the surgeon and circulating nurse in giving care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.  Acts as the patient’s advocate while promoting teamwork with physicians and other personnel.

Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent.  Completion of accredited Surg Tech Program required.

RN OR Circulator

FT • 80 hrs/pp •  Day Shift • On Call Weekends

Job Description: This individual will circulate in orthopedic, OB/GYN, General Surgery, and Urology cases. The Registered Nurse (RN) plans, supervises, implements and evaluates the nursing care of each patient through the use of the nursing process. The RN acts as the patient’s advocate while promoting teamwork with physicians and all personnel.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Current Kansas RN license/ Compact license required. NRP recommended. BLS, ACLS Required. CNOR preferred.
