Continuation of Visitor Restrictions at SWMC

Liberal, KS- Visitor restrictions remain in place at Southwest Medical Center. Before entering the facility, all individuals will be screened for fever and COVID-19 symptoms. All visitors must also wear a mask during their entire visit.  SWMC will continue to limit entrances and exits to centralize foot traffic.  Visitation hours from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. remain in effect for specific areas.  Visitor guidelines are subject to change based on requirements set by the Center for Medicare/Medicaid (CMS) and KDHE.

Visitor Restrictions:

• Inpatient: Patient may have one support person.

• Labor & Delivery: Two support persons.

The support person(s) cannot change.

Isolation Patient: One person – must stay in room.

• Emergency Department: One or two support person(s).

Isolation Patient: No visitors.

• Medical Floors: One support person for adult patients.

Two support persons for pediatric patients.

Isolation Patient: No visitors.

• Intensive Care Unit: One support person, additional support person may be rotated.

Isolation Patient: No visitors.

• Operating Room: One support person for adult patients.

Two support persons for pediatric patients.

Isolation Patient: One person – must stay in room.

• Exceptions may be made for end-of-life circumstances.

• The cafeteria is not open to visitors at this time.
